Belles Win Big on Sophomore Night

The end of the first quarter of the competition find the Belles and Western neck and neck with only one point separating the two (Belles 16 - Western 17). However, solid rebounding and strong free throw shooting had the Belles heading into the locker room four points ahead of Western (32-28). Even at the end of the third quarter the two teams remained close (Belles 55 - Western 48). But the phenomenol rebounding of J’Sades Ainsworth (13) and her 17 points, coupled with strong Sophomore support (Jones 12pts , Clark 10pts, Vickers 9pts, and Quarles 8pts), the Belles we’re able to put an exclamation point on the night with a 68-57 victory over Western. Leading scorers: J’Sades Ainsworth 17, Summer Jones 12, and Jamie Clarke 10. Leading Rebounders: J’Sades Ainsworth 13, Maikayla Chambers 6, and Tra’Chael Quarles 4. Overall Record: 16-9, 8-6 in conference. The Belles next competition will be held Monday February 25th, 2019 at NEO followed by Thursday, February 28th, 2019 at Connors.
