Rita Story-Schell

Rita Story-Schell is a 1982 graduate of Bethel High School in Shawnee, Oklahoma and 1984 graduate of Seminole State College. A former Belle basketball player, Story-Schell now leads the team she once played for as head coach of the SSC women's basketball program, a position she has held since May, 2000. She also serves as an instructor and Division Chair in the College's Health, Physical Education and Recreation Division.
 
In April 2003, the Seminole State College Education Foundation inducted Story-Schell into the Seminole State College Alumni Hall of Fame for her personal and professional accomplishments.
 
Prior to returning to her alma mater, Story-Schell was the head women's basketball coach for 12 years at Redlands Community College in El Reno, Oklahoma. Over the years, she has received numerous awards, including the 2000 National Institute of Staff Organization and Development Teaching Excellence Award and 1995 District E Coach of the Year.
 
Story-Schell is a member of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, the Oklahoma Coaches Association, the Kodak NJCAA All-American Selection Committee, and the Seminole State College Faculty Senate.
 
She and her husband, Mark make their home in Seminole with their son, Beckham.
