BAKER AND ROBERTSON COMPETE AT NJCAA GOLF NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Bailey Baker and Nicole Robertson competed for Seminole State at the 2018 NJCAA Women's Golf National Championship last week in Mesa, AZ. The four day tournament was played on the 6,130 yard layout of Longbow Golf Club.

Baker struggled in round one with a first day total of 101, but she bounced back fast by improving her score in round two by seven strokes, shooting a 94. Day three was her best round as she shot 85 on the hottest day of the tournament. She fired a final round 93 after four hard-fought days on the course and finished tied for 81st for the championship with a four day total of 373.

Robertson started out her first National Championship with a 96, but improved on day two with a 94. Like Baker, her best score of the week came on day three when she shot 86 in the hot afternoon sun. She finished out the tournament with a 95 on day four and her four day total of 371 left her in 78th overall.

Coach Bennett said "I am really proud of Bailey and Nicole for battling through the heat. This was a very difficult course and I thought they played without fear. They were great ambassadors for Seminole State and I look forward to continuing to grow SSC Golf on the national level in years to come."
