Brianne Lee, Maile Glaser, and McKenzie Nunley qualify for 2021 NJCAA Women’s Golf Championship.

El Reno, OK – Seminole State’s Brianne Lee, Maile Glaser, and McKenzie Nunley earned spots in the 2021 NJCAA Women’s Golf Championship this week by finishing among the top 10 individual players in the NJCAA Region II Tournament at Crimson Creek Golf Course.

The NJCAA Women’s Golf National Championship will be held at Plantation Bay Golf & Country Club in Ormond Beach, Florida, May 10-13, 2021.

The qualifying procedure for the tournament limits the number of teams and individuals advancing through an allocation of entries to each of the NJCAA Regions. NJCAA Region II is allocated one team for the tournament and five individual medalists who were not members of the first-place team.

While NJCAA #6-ranked Redlands Community College took the team title with a two-round +50 score on their home course, Lee, Glaser, and Nunley finished 6th, 7th, and 8th respectively to ensure their individual entries in the national final. Lee of Norman totaled a final round 87 to secure the 6th spot. Glaser of Ardmore carded a final round 89 to hold her position at #7 and Nunley of Wewoka kept the 8th opening with a final round 96.

“They did a great job of adjusting to a course in the second round – recovering from the first time around an unfamiliar track,” said SSC Golf Coach Rusty Beene. “It’s certainly exciting that we qualified three freshmen for the national tournament.

Every time they get some tournament time, they’re picking up ways to cut strokes and move up in the standings.”
