On a week where the Seminole State Soccer team needed to win the first two home games of the year to gain a good position in the Region 2 standings, the ladies came out and scored 7 goals in each of the two contests. Offensive has been a problem, but the ladies found the back of the net early and often this week.

First, the ladies beat NEO on Sunday by a score of 7-1. They opened the game with a few early chances on goal before Lauren Ramon received a pass from Breezie Davis to open the scoring in the 13th minute. Alexis Davis then received a ball from Fatima Martinez three minutes later and after she megged the defender, she finished the 2nd goal in the lower left corner. Then Davis and Ramon connected on another play in the 29th minute to put the Trojans up 3-0. A minute later, Yudaya Nakayenze received a slotted ball behind the defense from Breezie Davis, then B. Davis drew and finished a penalty kick to finish the first half with a 5-0 advantage. In the second half, Giselle Longoria smashed a ball in the upper left corner from 35 yards out to add one more goal for the Trojans. Kanasa Spybuck finished the scoring against NEO with a last second goal.

On Thursday, the Trojans welcomed Eastern Oklahoma State College to play their second Region 2 game of the week. The Trojans played another solid game beating the Mountaineers by a score of 7-0. Yudaya scored a hat trick in the first half of play to get the Trojans rolling early. Abigail Correa finished a corner kick late in the first half to give the Trojans a 4-0 halftime lead. In the second half, Kennedy Franklin continued the scoring trend with a PK after she was followed in the penalty box. Daryian Fancher hit a long range ball that went over the outstretched hands of the Mountaineer goalkeeper. Kylie Mckinney finished the scoring for the game after she received a pass from Franklin in the 64th minute.

The Trojans now hold a record of 9-1 with a Region record of 3-1. On Sunday the Trojans travel to Rose State College for a showdown between two of the top teams in the region. Rose State is playing well and undefeated in region play. The game will be at 3:30pm pending any weather updates.
