The Trojans Light Up the Pitch in Texas to Open the 2018 Campaign

The Seminole State Trojans started their 2018 campaign off with a huge night in Texas. In front of a great group of Trojan fans, the ladies lit up the pitch with a 13-0 victory over Cedar Valley College. The scoring happened often as the Trojans found their groove offensively early in the game when Kanasa Spybuck made a run into the penalty box from her defensive position to score the first goal of the season. From there, the flood gates opened for the Trojans.

SSC had 8 freshmen make their starting debut with 3 sophomores rounding out the starting lineup. Ten different players scored a goal for the Trojans, who lead the game 7-0 at halftime. The second half featured 6 more goals before the final whistle.

Assistant Coach Chely Flores has this to say about the game: "The girls came out and played strong together. There is a lot of room for improvement, but the girls played well tonight."

Lauren Ramon led all players with 7 total points: 2 goals and 3 assists. Yudix Nakayenze and Breezie Davis also had two goals. Scoring one goal apiece was Kanasa Spybuck, Bruna Cavaliere, Dixie Anderson, Alexis Davis, Fatima Martinez, Yelena Martinez, and Daryian Fancher. Giselle Longoria started in goal for the Trojans, marking her college debut. She registered her first clean sheet of her college career, making three saves and holding CVC scoreless.

Captain Sophomore, Kanasa Spybuck, stated: "I am proud of the team and the effort that we displayed tonight." Breezie Davis, also Sophomore Captain, added: "We continued to work hard and finish the game. Hopefully, we can build off this momentum to reach our future goals."
