The Trojans Defeated Butler CC on Saturday

On Saturday in front of a very good crowd, the Trojans were able to defeat the #8 team in the nation from Butler CC. The Trojans started the contest quickly with several scoring opportunities early, but could not finish any of their chances. Possession was played fairly equal between both teams as the contest featured two of the top teams in the District. Butler was a national tournament team last year, and showed why they deserve the respect given to them.

Throughout the contest the Trojans were able to amass 18 total shots and GoalKeeper, Giselle Longoria, was able to hold Butler out of the back of the net. The second half featured more back and forth competition. In the 86th minute of the game, Butler was called for a handball in the box, setting up freshman Amaya Grace for the game winning PK goal.

This was the first win for Seminole State’s young program over a preseason top 10 program. The Trojans will look to build off last week as they travel to Eastfield on Tuesday before hosting the #19 ranked Hill College on Friday at ECU at 1pm
