Trojans Complete Round 1 of Region 2 Play

It's been a busy few weeks for the Trojan soccer team. The Trojans currently sit atop the Region 2 standings with 8 wins and 0 losses. Two road trips and two home games saw the team busy the last couple of weeks. The Trojans started at home vs Redlands where the Trojans score four 1st half goals Alex Shatswell (2), Taryn Martin (1), and Ashley Perez (1). The offensive fire power continued into the second half where Jada Ryan, Paige Baumgartner, and Aynslee Duffy would each score 1. Jada had four assists in the game followed by one assist each for Ashley, Marisol Gomez, and Kayden Murphy

Next the ladies traveled to Mena, AR to play Rich Mountain. The Trojans scored 6 goals in the first half to finish a win of 7-0. 6 different players would get on the score sheet that day. Marisol Gomez with 2 goals and Chelsea Vilca, Alex Shatswell, Kylah Barnhill, Tatum Tallal, and Reeze Howsen would each score 1 goal. Ashley Perez had a team high two assists. 

Last Wednesday, SSC hosted Eastern Oklahoma State at home in a game that would see an influx of goals. The Trojans jumped out to a 4-0 halftime lead and then continued for 5 more goals in the second half. Paige contributed 3 goals and 1 assist, Jada had 2 goals and 1 assist, Chelsea had 2 goals and 1 assist, Marisol had 1 goal, Emma Teague 1 goal, Tatum Tallal 1 assist, and Gaby DeLeon 1 assist.

Yesterday, the Trojans traveled to Midwest City to play Rose State. A slow start for the Trojans would see the lead at halftime be in favor 1-0 when Alex buried a shot from 8 yards out. In the second half the offense came to life for 5 more goals to end the final score at 6-0. Paige had 2 goals, Tatum had 2 goals and 1 assist, Marisol had 1 goal, Chelsea had 3 assists, and Caroline Huber had 2 assists. 

In the last 4 games, the defensive line of Laury Woodard, Caroline Huber, Brooklyn Lough, Aynslee Duffy, Kayden Murphy, Kinley Daniels, Gaby Deleon, Rose Montes, Jada, and goal keepers Caroline Mobley and Ella Copenhaver have allowed just one goal during the 4 game stretch. 

The Trojans are off this week before returning to the field next Sunday.
