Inked! 5 Athletes Sign for the 2020 Season

A new decade for Seminole State Trojan Volleyball! 2020 is also the start of a new era for Trojan Volleyball and Coach Hannah Killian has been hard at work recruiting since she was hired in July 2019. Coach Killian is excited about her inaugural signing class and with the New Year fast approaching, we thought we’d take some time to introduce you to the five athletes that signed in 2019 for our 2020 class!

Taryn Bost (Seminole High School), Taryn is a 5’9 Setter from Seminole, OK. Taryn has been playing Volleyball for 6 years. She has played club ball at Shawnee Fire for 3 years and Oklahoma Excel for 3 years. While in high school she has been on the honor roll for 4 years and was inducted into the National Honor Society! Taryn said “I chose SSC because I will be close to home and I enjoyed the environment SSC brought to me!”

Trinity Shaw (Catoosa High School), Trinity is a DS/Libero from Catoosa, OK. Trinity has been playing volleyball for 6 years, all 6 of those years she played Club ball for the Catoosa Aces. Trinity had an impressive senior season at Catoosa High School recording: 333 Digs, 24 Aces, a passing percentage of 2.06, and a serving percentage of 94! With that performance she was named to the Bartlesville Tournament All-Tournament Team and 1st alternate for Allstate. Trinity said “I choose SSC because I have heard it is a great environment and it is close to home! My setter from last year also plays for SSC.”

Macie Noland (Southwest Covenant Schools), Macie is a 5’8 six rotation Outside Hitter from Oklahoma City. Macie has been playing Volleyball for 7 years. She has also played Club ball for 7 years and will be playing her final season with OK Rise. In High School she led her team in Kills, Digs, and Aces. She also recorded 1000 Kills in just 3 seasons! Macie received the honor of Allstate this season and she received Honorable Mention from OK Max Preps 2020 class! Macie said “I chose Seminole State because Coach Killian seems like a great coach & that she will push me to be a better player. I also love some of the girls I’m going to be playing with!”

Sarah Jones (Home Schooled), Sarah is a 6’0 Middle Blocker from Oklahoma City. Sarah has been playing Volleyball for 6 years. Like Macie, Sarah will be playing her final season of Club ball for OK Rise. Sarah averaged 13 Kills, 4 Blocks, and 2 Aces during her senior season. While in high school she received the honor of 2019 Offensive Player of the Year and was named to the All-Tournament Team 3 times! Sarah said “I chose SSC because of the small campus atmosphere and because it’s not too far but also not too close to home.”

Gabi Cotarelo (Enid High School), Gabi is a 5’11 Pin hitter from Enid, Oklahoma. Gabi has been playing volleyball for five years and has played club ball for three. While in high school, Gabi Lettered for Enid High! During her 2019 season Gabi had 22 Aces while having a serving percentage of 95.9%, 106 Kills with just 38 errors, 21 Blocks, and 103 Digs. With this performance she was selected to the 2019 Big Ten Conference Honorable Mention! Gabi said “I was really drawn to Seminole State when Coach K shared her future plans for the program. In addition, after I toured the campus I was even more excited about the possibility of going to school at SSC!”
