The 2021-22 season is looking bright for SSC volleyball, as Coach Hannah Killian adds five freshmen to the roster.
Anna Beth Fehrle (Mustang High School, OK) Anna Beth is a 6'0 Pin Hitter from Mustang, OK. Anna Beth has been playing volleyball for 6 years. Over the years she has played club ball for Storm, Charge, and Rise. Anna Beth has had a successful high school career on and off the court! In 2018 and 2020 she was named MHS Offensive Player of the Year. Along with her MHS awards, Anna Beth was named to the 2020 6A All-State roster and was named First Team All-Conference! Off the volleyball court, Anna Beth was named to the Superintendent's Honor Roll and she has the honor of being Valedictorian for the class of 2021! When asked why she chose SSC, Anna Beth said "I chose SSC because the team made me feel really comfortable and loved when I stepped onto campus!"
Cailee Schroeder (Bandera High School, TX) Cailee Schroeder is a 5'5 DS/Libero from Bandera, TX. Cailee has been playing volleyball for 8 years. Over the past 8 years, she has played club ball for Kendall Country Juniors, Texas Arsenal, and Hill Country Strike. In 2019 and 2020 Cailee was named First Team All-District. Along with her All-District honors, in 2019 Cailee won the Club MVP award. Cailee said, "I chose SSC because I LOVED the campus and one of the biggest factors was that Seminole offered a degree in my major. Not only did I like the school, but I liked Coach K. When I met her, I immediately felt welcomed. I'm excited for this Fall and can't wait to meet my new teammates!"
Baylea Norris (Bixby High School, OK) Baylea Norris is a 5'10 Pin Hitter/DS from Bixby, OK. Baylea has been playing volleyball for 7 years. She has played club ball for Club One, Charge and Ultimate. She has also played sand volleyball for Vertical Beach and Blue Beach. Baylea was named Preseason MVP and was named to the 2020 6A All-State Roster! Baylea said, "I chose SSC because I liked the Environment and how close the team was! I watched one of their games and I could tell they really wanted to win, I'm just excited to be a part of that!"
Marlee Hunter (Carl Albert High School, OK) Marlee is a 5'6 DS/Libero from Del City, OK. Marlee has been playing volleyball for 7 years. Over the years Marlee has played club ball for Edge, Charge, and Rise. Marlee has had a very successful high school and club career! Marlee has been named to the USAV High Performance Oklahoma Region Team and she was named to the 2020 6A All-State Roster. Along with being named to the All-State roster, Marlee was also named to the All-City 2nd team in 2019 and 2021. Marlee was also named Carl Albert MVP for the 2019 Season and was name Defensive MVP for the 2020 season! When asked why she chose SSC Marlee said, "I chose SSC because I loved the passion behind the program!"
Brooke Schmitz (Caddo Mills High School, TX) Brooke is a 5'6 setter/DS from Royse City, TX. Brooke has been playing volleyball for 11 years! During her time of playing volleyball, Brooke has played for RISE Heat and TX Invasion. During high school, Brooke had many athletic and academic honors. In 2019 and 2020 she was named 1st Team All-District Setter and in 2020 she was named Athletic All-State, Athletic All-District, Setter of the Year, and Academic All-District. In 2020 Brooke had an impressive stat line recording 32 Aces, 40Kills, 18 Blocks, and 723 Assists. Brooke also broke the school record for most assists in one game, recording 52 Assists! Brooke said, "I choose SSC because the athletes excel in schooling as well as create long lasting bonds on and off the volleyball court!"
Anna Beth, Cailee, Baylea, Marlee, and Brooke will be joining 6 returning Sophomores on the court for the 2021-2022 season. The future is looking bright for Seminole State Volleyball!
