Trojan Volleyball 2023 Region II Champions

The Seminole State College Trojan volleyball team won the NJCAA Region II Tournament on Oct. 24 at the Raymond Harber Field House. In the final matchup of the tournament, Northeastern Oklahoma and SSC faced off. The Trojans swept the first three sets to clinch the victory. The team will go on to host the first round of the Plains A & B District Tournament on Nov. 1 against the number three seed of Region VI.

Four members of the team were named to the All-Region team. Pictured (left to right): Skye Snyder of Paragould, Arkansas; Karrigan Powell of Oklahoma City; Carter Bohuslavick of Mustang; and Ytzel Garcia of Norman.

In addition to being named to the All-Region team, Powell (pictured center, going up for the spike) was also selected as the Region II Player of the Year. Over the course of the season, she has scored 465 points, averaging 3.9 points per set.
