KC men improve to 8-2 with impressive win against Seminole State

The Kilgore College Rangers, under the leadership of first-year head coach Robert Byrd, got just what they needed Nov. 25 in Tyler -- a confidence-boosting win before beginning conference play.

KC dominated a talent-rich Seminole State College team, 102-71, at Wagstaff Gymnasium Nov. 25 in the second game of the Tyler Junior College Classic.

The Rangers came up just short in the first game of the classic, losing at the buzzer to Weatherford College, 83-81.

Leading scorers for the Rangers against Seminole State were Peter "Pete" McKey with 26 points and Jamil Muttlib with 20 points.

Other players in double-figures were Willie Williams with 12 points -- and two players who came off of the bench -- Thomas Hattaway with 12 points (with four three-pointers) and KC Udolisa with 10 points.

KC is on the road Wednesday, Nov. 29, to begin conference action against Lamar State College in Port Arthur.

The Rangers will return home on Saturday, Dec. 2, to play Blinn College at Masters Gymnasium.
