Robert Tasin

Robert Tasin

Robert Tasin is in his 1st year as Trojan Assistant Coach.

Tasin served as pitching coach for NOC Tonkawa 2017-2018 and Norman High School in 2016 and 2017.

Robert spent the summer pitching for the Texas Air Hogs in the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball. Tasin was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2015 after 3 years as a standout pitcher at University of Oklahoma. Tasin currently holds the single season saves record for the Williamsport Crosscutters (Phillies short season affiliate).

While at OU Tasin was named All Big XII second team in 2015 while leading the Sooners with a 9-2 overall record on the mound. Tasin was also a John Olerud and Greg Olson National Award Semifinalist. He became the 1st Sooners pitcher to win 5 Big XII starts in a single season since 2011.

In 2011 Tasin was named Freshmen Conference Player of the year at Texarkana College as a standout pitcher and corner infielder. Tasin spent his sophomore year at Howard College before joining the Sooners in 2013. Coach Tasin is from Spring, Texas.

In Tasin's first season as the pitching coach at NOC, he helped the Mavericks raise their strikeouts from 384 (2017) to a new school record of 439 in just one year; as well as lowering their walks from 290 (2017) to 255. When asked how he looks to continue the improvement of the Maverick pitching staff he had this to say, "We had a decent year on the mound in 2018, but always have room to get better. Every pitcher is different, and each requires work on seperate areas of their game. I've learned as much as I've taught this year and look to cointinue that."

Coach Tasin coached 2 NCAA Div. I, 6 Div II, and 1 NAIA signees from the 2018 Mavs.
