Bucks Drop Match to #4 Seminole State

Bucks Drop Match to #4 Seminole State

(October 19, 2022) Mena, Arkansas - With just 2 games remaining on their regular season schedule, the Bucks can only help their cause as the Region II Tournament begins a week from tomorrow (Thursday, October 27th). The schedule is an uphill battle with hosting #4 Seminole State this afternoon at Tapley Park and travelling to #14 NOC-Tonkawa on Sunday. Earlier this season, the Bucks lost 6-0 to the Trojans in Seminole.

The Trojans took the opening kickoff, and it didn't take long to find the back of the net up and over the keeper to make it 1-0 in the 3rd minute of the game. For the remainder of the half, the Bucks defense held the Trojans in check. Seminole controlled possession much of the half, but the Bucks had some success on counters. However, the Bucks didn't have a shot on goal in the half, trailing 1-0.

The Bucks took the opening kickoff and had a one-on-one opportunity with the Trojans keeper that didn't result in a goal, but the Bucks had two shots on goal. For the next 20 minutes, the game went back and forth in the midfield until Seminole launched a ball from well outside the 18-yard box in the upper 90 that resulted in a goal to make it 2-0 in the 65th minute of the match. The game continued to be played in the midfield. The Bucks had a few opportunities on runs, but were unsuccessful in getting a goal. In their final game at Tapley Park, the Bucks would fall 2-0.

The women play again on Sunday, October 23rd, at NOC-Tonkawa. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 pm.
