Trojans Host Sophomore Night with Outright Conference Championship on the Line
The Seminole State College men's basketball team will close out the regular season at home Thursday night with an opportunity to accomplish something the program has not done in nearly two decades.
The Trojans enter the game with a 20–9 overall record and an 11–4 mark in conference play. Seminole State has already secured at least a share of the conference championship, but with a win Thursday night against Eastern Oklahoma State College, the Trojans would capture the program’s first outright conference title since 2008.
Thursday night will also serve as Sophomore Night, as Seminole State honors its sophomore class for the impact they have made on the team this season.
“This group has meant a lot to our program,” said head coach Austin Bogle. “They’ve shown leadership, toughness, and a commitment to getting better every day. Sophomore Night is a chance for us to recognize everything they’ve given to this team.”
Seminole State has been especially strong on its home floor this season, posting a 13–2 record while averaging 81.4 points per game.
The Trojans have been led throughout the season by Joseph Hunter, who averages 19 points per game, along with Dylan Golightly, who is scoring 15 points per contest. Marco Smith has also been a major contributor, averaging 13 points while leading the team with 8 rebounds per game.
With the conference championship on the line and the Region II Tournament beginning next week, the Trojans will look to finish the regular season strong in front of their home crowd.
Thursday night will also feature a White Out, with fans encouraged to wear white and help create an electric atmosphere inside Raymond Harber Field House for the final home game of the regular season.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
