Seminole State traveled to Mena, AR on Wednesday to take on Rich Mountain for their first conference road test of the season. The Trojans would threaten early and often in this game and never looked back. In the 9th minute of the game, Gabby Torres took a shot that was deflected by the goalkeeper to the waiting head of Ashlynn Vargas who would finish the goal for her first of the season. The ladies looked to add more to the scoreline throughout the first half creating some really good goal scoring opportunities, but the Rich Mountain goalkeeper played very well, tallying 18 saves in the contest. In the 32nd minute of play, Molly Lundy took a short corner where she fed the ball to Yiselle Bernal who used her left foot to hammer in her first goal of the season. Halftime came and would see the Trojans up 2-0 will racking up a total of 19 shots with 11 on goal in the half.

The second half would continue with much of the same as the Trojans looked to add more goals when they could. In the 52nd minute, Avery Lang received a corner from Ashley Perez and headed the ball in the back of the net. This was her first goal of the season and the first time in recent history that the Trojans headed in two goals in the same game. The Trojan defense played well throughout the contest allowing 4 shots to their opponent with 3 of those coming from free kicks. In the 70th minute, Molly Lundy found a streaking, Maria Maldonado, who used great effort to score the fourth and final goal. The Trojans finished with 31 total shots, 21 of those going on frame.

Coach Daniel Hill stated: "I was happy with the way the girls performed today. We created some very good scoring chances, and I thought the defense maintained good discpline throughout the game. It's still very early in the season, but the girls are working hard and getting better everyday."

Next up, the Trojans will face off at home on Sunday at 2pm against Eastern Oklahoma State College.
